I have loved animals for as long as a could remember, although as a kid I was never allowed to own one. When I got married, we adopted 2 dogs – Ginger & Riley (the first image below is of my girls just before they both passed away) – before we even got furniture! I will never be pet-less again, that is for sure.
This passion has driven me to do what I can to make a difference for homeless animals and to capture the bond that people have with their beloved pets. It is not just about capturing their beautiful faces – but about capturing the moments in time that mean the most – whether catching a ball, playing in the snow or snuggling with their favorite human.
In my prior life I was a Corporate Event Planner – after having my daughter I took to my true passion of photography and started a portrait studio in downtown Keyport, NJ and loved every minute of it.
When the economy slipped in 2008 I closed after 5 years and began doing web design and wpn8 and started my own web agency, 2 Dogs Media. I took a hiatus from photography for a few years while I got that business off the ground – but did try to squeeze in some rescue photo sessions and special projects when I could to keep my skills sharp.
In 2015 I started CharityPaws which originally launched as a t-shirt fundraising platform for animal rescues – but due to time restraints of my web agency I was not able to get that to be as successful as I had hoped – so instead I turned it into a news and resource for animal rescues and the people that support them. The magazine features inspirational stories. interviews and freebies to help animal rescues make a better world for our homeless animals!
In 2018 I decided I wanted to get back into the pet photography game, so here I am. I am excited about what lies ahead and all the future pets I am going to get to meet! I look forward to working with you and your pets to capture those moments that you will treasure forever!
I currently reside in Marlboro, NJ with my uber-supportive husband Dan, cat-loving daughter Rachel, Snoopy-cat and Cleo, our foster fail – that I did not want! <– the story is a good one!
I also want to mention my girls Ginger and Riley – because without them in my life, I would not be where I am. They taught me so much ad made me a die-hard advocate for the bully breeds. I miss them every day – but through CharityPaws and 2 Dogs Media (named for them of course) – their memories will live on!
